1910s–1920s Antique BOYCE MotoMeter Chevrolet "Monogram Junior" Winged Radiator Cap Radiator Cap.
Made by the Boyce MotoMeter Company in Long Island City, New York.
The Original Boyce MotoMeter, patented in 1912, and was used in automobiles to show the temperature of the radiator. This winged model was manufactured from 1916 through 1927. The design depicts a classical-style female figure holding a staff with a serpent wrapped around it, which is the symbol of Rod of Asclepius, associated with medicine and healing in Greek mythology.
