Great condition NYC subway collectibles here. The Hagstrom Company began as a drafting business founded by Swedish Immigrant, Andrew Hagstrom, in lower Manhattan, c. 1916.
Hagstrom created a map of his shop’s location to attract customers, which garnered an unintended spike in popularity due to its uniquely wide street illustrations, leading to the formal establishment of the Hagstrom Map Company shortly thereafter. The company later expanded to create maps of the broader New York City area and beyond, like this one of Brooklyn, NY.
